Dimitrios Tsarpalis
Resilience Engineering
Dimitris Tsarpalis obtained his Diploma in Civil Engineering with a major in structural engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) in 2016. He continued with postgraduate studies, completing an MSc in the Analysis and Design of Earthquake Resistant Structures (NTUA, 2018) and a PhD on the seismic behaviour of steel racking systems (NTUA, 2022). His PhD research was supported by the State Scholarships Foundation of Greece (IKY). He has worked as a Senior Risk Engineer for a Swiss consulting firm, specializing in the risk assessment of urban communities and complex operational systems.
Dimitris is affiliated with the Institute of Steel Structures at NTUA (Lambda Lab research group) as a Senior Researcher, actively involved in international research projects that have led to publications in peer-reviewed journals and international conference proceedings. Dimitris is currently Managing Partner at RUBIQ Consultants L.P.
Dimitris has been a Chartered Engineer (member of the Technical Chamber of Greece) since 2017. He is active as a freelance consulting engineer and has led the structural design of a wide range of civil engineering projects. He is also interested in the development of structural analysis software and socioeconomic modeling tools.
